Day 13 — You Are Allowed to Miss Who You Were, 90 Days of Healing Notes

Grief can change so much that sometimes you do not only miss the person you lost—you miss the version of yourself who existed before the loss. Today is permission to notice that longing without judging it.

You Are Allowed to Miss Who You Were

Grief can make you miss more than the person you lost. Sometimes, you miss who you were before the loss—the way you laughed, the plans you made, or how ordinary life used to feel.

That version of you mattered, too. You don’t have to rush to become someone new or pretend you’re comfortable with how much grief has changed you.

You are allowed to miss who you were while slowly learning who you are now.

Healing Note

Day 13 Healing Note — You Are Allowed to Miss Who You Were

Grief does not ask you to perform healing perfectly. What you feel today is allowed to be real, even when it changes from hour to hour. Give yourself permission to meet this day with less judgment and more tenderness. Healing can include pain and progress at the same time.

Tiny Habit

Day 13 Tiny Habit — one gentle minute for yourself

Take one minute today to practice this reminder: “You Are Allowed to Miss Who You Were.” Then choose the smallest action that would make this moment gentler.

Journal Prompt

Day 13 Journal Prompt — reflecting on who you were before loss

What does “You Are Allowed to Miss Who You Were” bring up for me today, and what would I give myself permission to do differently if I truly believed it?

Night Ritual

Day 13 Night Ritual — release one thing and carry one kindness into tomorrow

Before sleep, lower the lights and take three slow breaths. Repeat: “You Are Allowed to Miss Who You Were.” Name one thing you are releasing for tonight and one kindness you want to carry into tomorrow.

You do not have to become your old self again to honor who you were. You are allowed to miss that version of you while gently getting to know who you are becoming.
